We will walk seven laps around the Federal Plaza building, stopping each time for a brief silent prayer. After the last lap, we will recite the Jericho Prayer.

Our accompaniment program generally consists of going into the courthouses as a group, meeting those waiting for hearings (we call them “Friends”), helping friends fill out paperwork, sitting with them through their hearing and walking them out of the building.

Currently, ICE is congregating in the courthouses and kidnapping many of our friends as they are leaving the courtroom. Because of this situation, we are adamant that anyone who wants to accompany with us receives a training by us. Join us at the New Sanctuary Coalition Community Meeting for an in-person training.

All online trainings last a little more than an hour and the link will be sent to registrants prior to the training.

Dr. Zoey Phillips will be hosting a workshop designed to help participants interact with friends in ways that are culturally sensitive and healing-centered.

This session will focus on understanding common responses to traumatic stress and strategies for conducting interviews with individuals who are navigating the stress of migration and acculturation. The session will also cover strategies for self-care and community care for volunteers.

Trained volunteers, people seeking help with paperwork, and translators (especially fluent Spanish speakers), please arrive at 5:45pm.

Each Wednesday evening, our Pro Se Clinic supports our Friends who don't have legal representation by helping them with their paperwork as they navigate a hostile immigration system. 

This training will focus on the process of applying for asylum in the United States.
