New Sanctuary Coalition

Keeping families together and advocating against deportations

Accompaniment Training

Join us as we prepare to reinstate New Sanctuary Coalition's Accompaniment program and Pro Se Clinic.

We especially encourage speakers of Spanish, Arabic Creole, French, Portuguese, and Hindi.

Accompaniment

The New Sanctuary Coalition accompaniment program recruits and trains volunteers to accompany people facing deportation to their immigration hearings and ICE check-ins. This provides moral support to the person facing deportation and enables volunteers to hold immigration authorities accountable. Standing in solidarity with migrants facing deportation also demonstrates to immigration judges, ICE officers, and government attorneys that there is a community mobilized against their deportation. NSC accompanies hundreds of people a year.

Pro Se Clinic

New Sanctuary Coalition runs clinics staffed by non-attorney volunteers and supervised by experienced immigrants rights organizers and immigration lawyers. You do not need prior experience to participate; we will train you. The clinic helps people identify ways to get relief from deportation and detention; access other immigration-related benefits; understand their rights so they can fight their own case; apply for asylum; prepare for court appearances or interviews; and much more.
