New Sanctuary Coalition

Keeping families together and advocating against deportations

Pro Se Clinic Training

New Sanctuary Coalition runs a weekly clinic staffed by non-attorney volunteers and supervised by experienced immigrants rights organizers and immigration lawyers. You do not need prior experience to participate; we will train you. The clinic helps people identify ways to get relief from deportation and detention; access other immigration-related benefits; understand their rights so they can fight their own case; apply for asylum; prepare for court appearances or interviews; and much more.

We're seeing tremendous growth in the number of immigrants  the people we call “friends,” not clients — seeking help and we're looking for new volunteers. Join us for training, and we'll continue training you and supporting you as you help our friends at our weekly clinic.

We have been especially in need of fully fluent Spanish speakers and people who are comfortable bringing and using a laptop to clinic every week.

We will provide an introduction to NSC and go over important policies and procedures of the pro se clinic.

Clinic is on Wednesday evenings from 6pm-9pm. Our current clinic location is St. Francis Xavier 55 West 15 Street. First time volunteers, please contact our office (646-395-2925).
