The administration has created a crisis by ripping children from their parents.  You can help families directly impacted by donating to our bond fund.  This fund will allow parents to be released from detention/jail and rejoin their loved ones.  All impacted family members will be eligible for this bond.  

FAQs

What is Bond? The government requires our Friends* to pay an amount, determined by a judge, to be eligible to be released from jail.  They claim that paying a bond will ensure our Friends attend their Immigration Court hearings and ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) supervision.  We understand this to be yet another obstacle placed in an attempt to further block our Friends from remaining in the US.  Bonds are currently ranging from $7500 to $30,000 and any amount donated is greatly appreciated.  

Will my entire donation go towards the bond fund?  Your donation will be pooled with that of others to give us the maximum flexibility to bond the most number of Friends.  Only a small amount of money will be used for administrative fees to cover the processing fee and administration.  

How does this work? Do our Friends pay back the money?  New Sanctuary Coalition does not require a repayment schedule, so as not to put added pressure onto our Friends who are already facing extreme hardship. When our Friend's case is closed, the government returns the money.  The money returned to the bond fund will be used to release other Friends.  

Am I in any way held responsible or liable?  No.  You may donate anonymously.  Even if you choose to make your identity known, you will not be held liable or responsible in any way by the courts or the Dept. of Homeland Security.   

Is my donation tax deductible?  Yes.  New Sanctuary will provide you with documentation for tax purposes. 

*Friend is the term we use to refer to the affected members of our immigrant community who are fighting to stay in the US.
